Private Sector Development of Professionalism among Saudi Youth An applied study on sample of private sector institutions in Jeddah

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of the private sector in developing professionalism among Saudi youth, by identifying the components adopted by private sector institutions to develop professional skills, providing work guides with the requirements of professional l skills, providing education and training programs, and providing attractive work benefits for youth in the labor market, as well as knowing the components of developing professional professionalism among Saudi youth that enable them to compete in the labor market, which includes developing the (cognitive, skill, social value) aspect of professional professionalism. The researcher used the social survey method to collect data through a questionnaire, and the sample consisted of 815 young men and women working in private sector work institutions, and 49 managers and human resources employees in private sector companies. In-depth interviews were also conducted with 10 young people working in private sector institutions and 5 managers and human resources employees as well. The study concluded that the components adopted by the company to develop professional skills among Saudi youth were of medium level, as the overall arithmetic mean of the axis was (2.30) and the standard deviation was (0.631), and the value of Chi2 was (913.44**), which is a statistically significant value at a significance level of (0.01). It also concluded that the components of professional professionalism among Saudi youth were of high level, with the development of the value and social aspect coming in first place, followed by the professional aspect and then the cognitive aspect
