Abstract

The study aimed to monitor the reality of empowering university youth, determine the level of achievement of sustainable development goals, and identify the relationship between empowering university youth and achieving sustainable development goals, in addition to identifying the difficulties faced by the contributions of empowering university youth in achieving sustainable development goals and proposing suggestions to activate these contributions. It also aimed to develop proposed mechanisms to enhance the contributions of empowering university youth in achieving sustainable development goals. This study is classified as descriptive research, targeting the monitoring and analysis of the relationship between empowering university youth (as an independent variable) and achieving sustainable development goals (as a dependent variable). It relied on using a social survey method with a convenient sample of third-year students (regular/part-time) at the training camp in the Faculty of Social Work, Helwan University, for the academic year 2023/2024, consisting of 3,839 individuals.

The results of the study showed that the level of empowerment of university youth as a whole is high, with a mean of (2.54). The indicators, according to the ranking of the mean, are as follows: the first rank is social empowerment of university youth with a mean of (2.61), which is a high level; the second rank is political empowerment of university youth with a mean of (2.56), which is also a high level; the third rank is economic empowerment of university youth with a mean of (2.45), which is a high level as well.
