Obstacles to the application of distance education at the Libyan Institutes in light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic “Case Study of the Higher Institute for Comprehensive Professions Benghazi”

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the reality of distance education and the obstacles to its application during the global pandemic from the point of view of professors. It also aimed to know the level of their use of electronic devices in the online education process, the obstacles they faced, and the differences in the level of this use according to demographic variables. The study used the descriptive approach. Analytical, and the community study was formed from all the professors at the Higher Institute and they were (25) people, where a comprehensive survey was used for the community study, and the questionnaire was adopted as a tool to collect data for the study. As for data analysis, the Statistical Program for Social Sciences (SPSS) also used the use of some Statistical methods such as iterations, percentages, means of statistical cases, standard deviations, and one-way ANOVA.
The study found that the level of the teaching staff's use of electronic devices is above average, and the obstacles that face them when applying it were of medium level, and the results also showed that there are no differences in the level of use of electronic devices, and the level of obstacles depending on the variables of gender, specialization, and years of teaching experience. And the academic degree of the teaching staff of the Higher Institute for Comprehensive Professions, Benghazi.
