Abstract

The current study aimed to verify the psychometric properties of the scale of the trend towards extremism in its three dimensions (religious - political - social), among young people, on a sample of (389) respondents, with an average age of (21.86) and a standard deviation of (1.703) years, and it resulted in The results of the design of the trend towards extremism scale, which included (73) items distributed over the three dimensions. always = 5 - often = 4 - sometimes = 3 - rarely = 2 - never = 1), while you correct items (10 - 23 - 53), in the opposite direction so that (always = 1- often = 2- sometimes = 3 - Rarely = 4- Never = 5), and then the total score on the scale ranges between (73 to 365) degrees, where the high degree reflects the people who have a higher tendency towards extremism and we can call them the most tendency towards extremism, while it expresses The lower score is for people who have a lower tendency towards extremism and we can call them the least towards extremism, and all dimensions of the scale have coefficients Good stability, expressing the homogeneity of the scale, and the value of the alpha stability coefficient for the scale as a whole was (861), and the validity of the scale was verified by the methods of content and factor validity. political and social.
