The role of electronic media in raising awareness on information security importance and audience interaction with it: A practical study on Egyptian banks

Abstract

The study confirmed that the studied Egyptian banks limited their use of electronic media in raising the awareness on the importance of information security. Also, the results assured that the banks pages audience had low interest in the warning publications set by these banks as the majority of their comments were not linked to these publications subjects. This is due to the lack of technical and formal aspects of these publications which are able to attract the audience attention more often and achieve the intended goals.The study confirmed that the studied Egyptian banks limited their use of electronic media in raising the awareness on the importance of information security.
