E-governance as an approach in health crisis management - the digital response to the Corona virus pandemic

Abstract

In light of the biological war that the world witnessed, which was the beginning of (Covid-19), which changed the balance of the equation for many health institutions in the world, especially those that lack electronic governance in crisis management and the many obstacles they faced when dealing with the Corona crisis and its implications.
Therefore, it has become necessary for management in health institutions to abandon the old pattern of crisis management, which carries with it a number of negatives, and to adopt the new pattern of health crisis management in light of electronic governance to reduce time and effort.
From this point of view, this study aims to identify the importance and objectives of e-governance, and to identify the principles and requirements for applying e-governance in crisis management in health institutions. This study is one of the descriptive studies that relied on a sample social survey approach for workers in Isolation hospitals in Assiut Governorate, using a questionnaire form prepared by the researcher.
The study came out with a set of recommendations and proposals necessary to activate electronic governance in order to advance the health sector and improve its performance, including activating the principles and mechanisms of electronic corporate governance that enhances keeping pace with current technological developments and digital transformations and their application in the state’s public administration, which contributes to improving the quality of public services.
