A future vision for promoting a culture of environmental sustainability among university youth in light of climate change

Abstract

Sustainable development aims to achieve rates of development in the available resources beyond population growth rates, which leads to providing the special needs of future generations from these resources, maintaining environmental balance, and providing fair mechanisms for social care for the current population without neglecting the future conditions and their balance as well as the generations that will live. The concept of sustainable development has always been associated with the concept of environmental protection with the emergence of another urgent need that emerged as a result of both global and local interest, which is to spread the culture of sustainability among all members of society and university youth in particular in order to protect the environment and achieve environmental sustainability in light of climate changes. Accordingly, the research aimed to identify the reality of the culture of environmental sustainability among university youth in light of climate changes and to develop a future vision to enhance the culture of environmental sustainability among university youth in the light of climate changes, using the case study approach, and the research reached to develop a vision to enhance the culture of environmental sustainability in University youth in light of climate change.
