Abstract

Environmental citizenship is one of the forms of citizenship, as the interest in environmental citizenship has increased by decision-makers and educators in various countries of the world. Environmental citizenship has been a major focus of environmental political scientists, and environmental theorists, and then the current study aimed to determine the level of use of participatory planning at Assiut University, and to determine the level of development of university youth awareness of environmental citizenship at Assiut University, Determining the dimensions of participatory planning most related to the development of university youth awareness of environmental citizenship at Assiut University, and identifying the difficulties facing the use of participatory planning in developing university youth awareness of environmental citizenship at Assiut University, and identify proposals to activate the use of participatory planning in developing university youth awareness of environmental citizenship at Assiut University, and to come up with proposed planning mechanisms to activate the use of participatory planning in developing university youth awareness of environmental citizenship at Assiut University, This study is one of the descriptive studies, which relied on the comprehensive social survey approach for all members of the committees for environmental development and community service affairs in the faculties of Assiut University, numbering (115), and its results reached the validity of the study’s hypotheses as well as the importance of spreading awareness in the university community of the culture of environmental citizenship < /p>
