Abstract

This study aime to achieve The main aim was to determine the role of the social work profession from the perspective of generalist practice in facing the illiteracy problem, and the Study sub-aims: 1. Determining the causes leading to the illiteracy problem. 2. Defining the implications of the illiteracy problem.3. Determining the role of the social work profession in facing the illiteracy problem. 4. Monitoring the obstacles facing the role of the social work profession. 5. Presenting a set of proposals and recommendations on activating the role of the social work profession in facing the illiteracy problem.
Study type or kind: This study was one of the descriptive/analytical studies that aim to describe and analyze the role of the social work profession in facing the illiteracy problem, and the obstacles facing this role, as well as the causes of the illiteracy problem, and its implications. Study method: The current study relied on the comprehensive social survey method for the work team of the General Authority for Eradication Illiteracy and adult education in Majzoub Square, Assiut Governorate (30) individuals. Study Tool: A questionnaire was designed to be applied to the work team of the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education. The most important results of the study:1. Answering all the questions of the study. 2. Presenting a set of proposals and recommendations to activate the role of the social work profession in facing the illiteracy problem.
