Social Networking Sites And Their Relation To The Level Of Social Adjustment In Adolescents

Abstract

The study aims to identify the reality of the use of social networking sites among adolescents, the level of social adaptation, and the relationship between the use of social networking sites and the level of social adjustment among adolescents.
The researcher used the method of social survey by means of the sample in conducting the study, which numbered (449) by designing a questionnaire to study the relationship between the use of social media sites and the level of social adaptation among adolescents, The study presented the following results:
- The level of social adaptation among adolescents reached (144.85), and it was clear from the results that the most prominent levels of social adaptation among adolescents were represented in the dimension of adapting to the family with an average of (40.58), followed by the adaptation dimension with school colleagues with an average (37.94), followed by the adaptation dimension with teachers with an average (33.50), and finally, the dimension of adapting to the external community came with an average of (32.82).
- The level of social adaptation among adolescents is medium, and their adaptation to their families is high and low for the external community.
- Adolescents are increasingly adapting to schoolmates.
- There is a weakness in the features of adapting to teachers among adolescents.
- There is a weakness in the features of adapting to the external community among adolescents.
