A guide for families of patients with dementia (Alzheimer's) in Saudi society Preparation

Abstract

This guide is considered a guide for families of Alzheimer's patients in Saudi society. It is used by family members to help them deal with their patient suffering from Alzheimer's disease, or with their loved ones who suffer from Alzheimer's disease, in light of the correct understanding of some of what is stated in it in a simplified manner. It also helps families get to know each other in easy and simple language. It is clear by giving them information about Alzheimer’s disease (its definition, classifications, symptoms, causes, stages of development, and the necessary steps for how to deal with an Alzheimer’s patient in its final stages).
The importance of this guide lies in explaining the types of pressures and stress that family members and family caregivers of Alzheimer's patients are exposed to, and provides some guidelines for alleviating those pressures and stress.
This guide for families of Alzheimer's patients aims to: understand Alzheimer's disease, its definition, classifications, symptoms, causes, and stages of development, help families and society understand Alzheimer's disease, and manage self-care activities for Alzheimer's patients such as eating, bathing, dressing, etc. It also aims to help caregivers Providing daily home care, care and appropriate support for Alzheimer’s patients, and also helping them deal with the last stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
