Requirements for achieving professional safety for social workers in human services organizations

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the requirements for achieving professional safety for social workers in human services organizations, develop proposals to achieving the professional safety of social workers in human services organizations, and develop proposed mechanisms in the context of a community organization method to achieve professional safety for social workers in human services organizations. This study is considered descriptive, which relied on the social survey with a sample of human services organizations at the level of Cairo Governorate (N= 48), and a comprehensive social survey of social workers working in human services organizations at the level of Cairo Governorate (N= 226). The study found that the level of requirements associated with safety policies is a median, the level of requirements associated with managing work accidents in human services organizations is a median, the level of requirements associated with the safety of the work environment is a median, and the level of requirements associated with training in occupational safety is a median. Proposals for achieving professional safety for social workers in human services organizations included: training social workers to manage risks and pressures, educating social workers about their rights stipulated in the labor law, insuring social workers against injuries and accidents at work, providing psychological counseling to social workers within the organization, and enacting laws that Protects social workers from professional violence. The study also developed a proposed mechanisms from a community organization method to achieve professional security for social workers in human services organizations which included strengthening safety policies
