The effectiveness of academic guidance programs in developing social responsibility among undergraduate students

Abstract

           The aim of the research is to determine the level of effectiveness of academic guidance programs for female undergraduate students according to the standards of the National Accreditation Authority, determining the effectiveness of academic guidance programs in developing social responsibility, and identifying the obstacles that limit the effectiveness of academic guidance programs in developing social responsibility among female university students, as well as proposals that contribute to strengthening the role of academic guidance programs in developing social responsibility among students.Undergraduate female students, and the current research belongs to the types of analytical descriptive studies using the social survey approach with a sample of female undergraduate students at the College of Arts - Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University, and by applying a questionnaire to measure the effectiveness of academic guidance programs in developing social responsibility.For female undergraduate students at Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University in Dammam.The results of the study showed the validity of the first hypothesis of the research, and the validity of the second hypothesis of the research.The results also showed the validity of the third hypothesis of the research.The results also revealed that the most important obstacles that limit the effectiveness of academic guidance programs in developing social responsibility among undergraduate female students are: Obstacles attributed to the advisor, administrative and organizational obstacles, obstacles attributed to female students.The general results of the research revealed that the most important proposals that contribute to enhancing the role of academic guidance programs in developing social responsibility among female university students are Familiarity with plans and procedures for academic guidance.On the part of the advisor, holding training courses for advisors to equip them with academic advising skills, organizing ongoing periodic interviews between the academic advisor and students.
