Quality of life of students with disabilities in Saudi universities A study applied to King Saud University

Abstract

The study seeks to achieve the following objectives: Determine the services provided and the level of service quality in the comprehensive access program (access service, academic educational services, assistive technical services, facility and building preparation service) for people with disabilities at King Saud University from their point of view, and determine the significant correlation between the services.Introduction to the Universal Access Program and the quality of life of students with disabilities at King Saud University, and evaluating the level of the Universal Access Program at King Saud University from the point of view of those in charge of the program. The results of the study concluded that: Students’ opinions varied about the reality of implementing the services provided in the program, with the presence ofA gap between their needs and the services provided.The results showed that the accessibility service was the most responsive service to students’ needs, while the assistive technology service was the least responsive. Regarding the level of quality of life for people with disabilities in Saudi universities, the results showed that the level of quality of life for people with disabilities in Saudi universities was high.The educational aspect was the lowest aspect of quality of life, while the social interactive aspect was the highest. It was found from the current study that the social interactive aspect was one of the highest aspects of quality of life for people with disabilities in Saudi universities, and about the relationship between the services provided in the Universal Access Program and the quality of life of students with disabilities.The results showed a strong positive correlation with statistical significance between the services provided in the Universal Access Program and the quality of life of students with disabilities, and the differences between the average estimates of individuals with disabilities about the relationship between the level of services provided in the Universal Access Program and the quality of life of students.
