Protecting children from cybercrime is a societal responsibility

Abstract

In light of the widespread use of modern means of communication, the rate of cybercrime has increased unprecedentedly. What is particularly worrying is the increase in cybercrime for children. Both adults and children spend a lot of time in front of smart device screens, and often communicate with people they do not know, which makes it easier for them to fall victim to cybercrimes and exposes them to serious harm.
Childhood is one of the most important stages in an individual’s life, which requires the family to surround it with the necessary care and protect it from various violations and crimes. Since children are the fruit and asset of the family and the future of society, we present this research to you, which deals with an introduction to cybercrime, the characteristics of cybercrime, and the dangers of cybercrime. Children and ways to confront these risks. Among the most important risks that threaten children in the world of the Internet, including luring by anonymous people, electronic bullying, or emails, rumors, and video clips sent that are published on social media networks.
