Abstract

This research aims to test the effectiveness of a training program from the perspective of general practice in social service to develop the professional performance of social workers to modify suicidal thoughts among university youth. The research sought to verify the following practical hypotheses: There is a low level of professional performance of social workers to modify suicidal thoughts among university youth - There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of the pre- and post-applications of the experimental group in (the cognitive-skill-value aspect) of the professional performance scale to modify suicidal thoughts among university youth - There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of the pre- and post-applications of the experimental group in (the total score) of the professional performance scale to modify suicidal thoughts among university youth. This research belongs to quasi-experimental studies, and relied on the quasi-experimental approach as it was applied to one group and its number was (19) individuals, and the research was applied in the Central Administration for Youth Care at Assiut University. In the period (from August 2024 AD to October 2024 AD). The research results reached the validity of all research hypotheses and thus achieved all research objectives
