Abstract

The study aimed to identify the attitudes of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University students towards social changes in Saudi society, in addition to indicating whether there were statistically significant differences in these attitudes according to the variables (gender, educational level, monthly family income). The study used the questionnaire as a tool to collect the necessary data for the study. The study was applied to a random sample of (407) male and female students of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: The attitudes of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University students towards social changes in Saudi society were generally largely positive. They also agreed that recreational and educational activities contributed to openness to global cultures and introducing the values ​​of Saudi society. They were also neutral in their attitudes towards economic changes in Saudi society in general, and they agreed to strengthen the economic system in attracting many global companies. Recreational activities also contributed to increasing demand for domestic tourism. The results also showed that they were neutral in their attitudes towards all indicators of the change in family relations in Saudi society in general. The study also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in their attitudes towards changes Social in Saudi society is attributed to the variable of gender, educational level, and the presence of statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05≥∝) in the attitudes of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University students towards social and economic changes in Saudi society according to the variable of monthly family income in favor of the study sample members whose monthly family income is 10,000 riyals or more.
The study also recommended a number of recommendations, the most important of which are: the need to intensify awareness and guidance programs on the importance and necessity of the positive use of modern technologies, and to work on educating students about the importance of social changes occurring in societies and how to deal with them.
