Abstract

The United Nations Environment Program has developed a working definition, defining a green economy as one that improves human well-being and social equity, while significantly reducing environmental risks. At the field level, a green economy can be defined as an economy in which growth in income and employment is driven by investments in the public and private sectors that lead to enhanced resource use efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, waste and pollution, and prevent biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation. These investments are also motivated by growing market demand for green goods and services, and technological innovations, by correcting public tax policies while ensuring that prices are an appropriate reflection of environmental costs.
Hence, the current study aimed to identify the requirements for developing the financial capabilities of civil society organizations towards spreading the culture of green economy, and also identifying the requirements for developing the administrative capabilities of civil society organizations towards spreading the culture of green economy, and determining the requirements for developing the planning capabilities of civil society organizations towards spreading the culture of green economy, in addition to Determining the obstacles to developing the capabilities of civil society organizations towards spreading the culture of green economy, and finally identifying proposals that contribute to developing the capabilities of civil society organizations towards spreading the culture of green economy.
