Abstract

Bullying is a behavior that is widely spread among children and unfortunately has profound negative effects on the child's psyche and future. Unfortunately, the problem of bullying has become a common thing, as we find that bullying victims suffer from loneliness, poor psychological and social adjustment, few or scarce friends, shortcomings in social relationships, shyness, and low self-esteem, which are called symptoms of social withdrawal. Therefore, this research aims to test the effectiveness of practicing behavioral modeling techniques in social group work method in reducing social withdrawal behavior among bullying victims in the primary stage. The research sought to verify the following scientific hypothesis: There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of the pre- and post-measurements of the experimental group in the total score of the social withdrawal scale among bullying victims. This research belongs to quasi-experimental studies, and relied on the experimental method, as the pre- and post-test were applied to one experimental group consisting of (15) individuals. The intervention program was applied at Al-Baroudi Elementary School affiliated with Tahta Center in Sohag Governorate, The research results concluded that the null hypothesis is invalid and the alternative hypothesis is accepted, which indicates that there are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the pre- and post-measurements of the experimental group in the total score of the social withdrawal scale among bullying victims, as the effect size of the professional intervention program used in reducing social withdrawal as a whole reached (0.96),
