The current study aimed to provide researchers with a research compass to identify professional practice issues in studies of group work method and the requirements for its development in light of the digital transformation by analyzing the content of master's and doctoral theses in the Department of Group Work at the Faculty of Social Service at Assiut University (Egypt), which were completed and approved in the period from 2004 to 2020. The study used desk research and the content analysis guide for masters and doctoral theses, as the study sample amounted to (44) theses. The results indicated that most of the studies were descriptive and the questionnaire used as the main tool for collecting data. According to the results of the current study, the researcher identified the most important issues addressed by the studies and analyzed the most important strengths and weaknesses in them, and identified the requirements for developing professional practice in group work method in light of the digital transformation.
