The environmental challenge is one of the most complex issues that sociological approaches have attempted to study, highlighting the importance of the environmental dimension in education. In the absence of clear environmental topics and objectives in the content of our educational programs and curricula, local environmental problems have worsened, threatening the lives of individuals and communities. In this context, sociological perspectives have proposed various models of approaches (social, educational, legal, cognitive, etc.) and strategies that can be adopted to address environmental issues through robust training programs in the form of a subject that could be called "Environmental Education." This subject may offer practical educational solutions to confront contemporary environmental challenges. It is essential to value such efforts due to their effectiveness in modifying individual behavior by instilling a strong environmental culture and providing scientific environmental knowledge that can be applied to solve local environmental problems, especially as environmental risks approach our immediate surroundings.
