This study aims to present a vision for the role of group work in enhancing university youth awareness of digital citizenship, as one of the contemporary challenges affecting their social participation and behavior in the digital space. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, shedding light on the fundamental concepts and dimensions of digital citizenship, as well as the role of group work practitioners in fostering digital awareness among university students.
The proposed framework includes a set of professional interventions and mechanisms that contribute to educating university youth about the importance of responsible digital behavior, promoting ethical values in technology use, and developing their skills in digital risk protection and positive engagement in the digital community.
The findings indicate that group work practitioners can play an effective role by designing awareness programs, organizing interactive workshops, and providing guidance on responsible technology use. This, in turn, positively impacts the enhancement of national belonging and social responsibility among university students in the digital age.
