Positive Resilience and its Relationship to Future Career Anxiety Among University Students

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between positive resilience and future career anxiety among university students. It also aimed to propose indicators of the role of social worker to improve positive resilience and reduce the severity of future career anxiety among university students. The study concepts were defined as (positive resilience, and future career anxiety). The study sample consisted of (276) university students. This study belongs to the descriptive study type to determine the relationship between two variables, namely positive resilience and future career anxiety among university students, using the social survey method through random sample method. The study tools included positive resilience scale, and its sub-dimensions were defined in four dimensions: (social support - personal competence - social and family competence - value and religious structure), and the future career anxiety scale, and its sub-dimensions were defined in four dimensions: (negative ideas about the future - the importance of the profession and the possibility of obtaining it - specialization and academic achievement - family and social stability). The findings emphasized that there is a statistically significant inverse relationship at a significance level of (0.01) between positive resilience and future career anxiety among university students.
