A proposed preventive program from the perspective of generalist practice of social work to raise awareness among university girls about electronic blackmail methods

Abstract

Abstract: The research aimed to identify the concept that university girls perceive of electronic blackmail, identify the methods of electronic blackmail, and determine the role of the social worker in raising awareness of the methods of electronic blackmail, and the obstacles they face while raising awareness of the methods of electronic blackmail, to reach a proposed preventive program from the perspective of general practice in social service to raise awareness of university girls of the methods of electronic blackmail. The research is considered one of the descriptive analytical studies in the fields of social service, and relied on the method of a comprehensive social survey of all social workers working in the youth care departments in all faculties of Assiut University, whose number reached (45) individuals, and a deliberate sample of university girls in the faculties of Assiut University, whose number reached (100) individuals, and the research was implemented in the time period from (March 2025 AD - the end of April 2025 AD). The research findings revealed a low level of girls' knowledge of electronic blackmail methods. Furthermore, social workers play a variety of roles in educating girls about electronic blackmail methods, leading to a proposed preventative program from the perspective of general practice in social work to educate university girls about electronic blackmail methods.
