Contributions of civil society organizations to strengthening citizenship values among the physically disabled

The current study aimed to identify the contributions of civil society organizations in strengthening the values ​​of citizenship among the physically disabled. This study is considered a descriptive analytical study because it clarifies the variables related to the study, shows them, their relationship with each other, their mutual impact, and the occurrence of this problem. It relied on the social survey method using the random sample method, a random sample of disabled people who frequent the Social Rehabilitation Association in Qena was selected to obtain various rehabilitation programs and services. The “questionnaire” was used as a tool to collect data from the study sample, which amounted to (60) individuals with physical disabilities during the vocational training period at the Vocational Rehabilitation Association. The study results revealed that: The average level of respondents' responses according to the components of citizenship was high, with the most prominent components being community participation within and outside society and the application of public values ​​within society. The average level of respondents' responses according to the reasons for their lack of knowledge of the meaning of the word citizenship was high, with the most important of these reasons being a lack of reading about citizenship. The average level of respondents' responses regarding their rights was average, with the most important of these rights being the right to security and peace. The average level of respondents' responses regarding their duties was high, with the first and most important of these duties being solidarity with members of society. The average level of civil society's contribution to the exercise of citizenship rights is high, foremost among which is providing opportunities for people with disabilities to pursue creative hobbies.
