Abstract

The study aimed to identify community-organizing strategies used to address the social and economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and to measure their impact. A descriptive-analytical design was employed. The sample comprised 82 social workers and volunteers from 25 NGOs in East and West Mansoura (Dakahlia). The instrument was a 40-item questionnaire covering: community-organizing strategies (24 items), social impacts (8), and economic impacts (8), using a 5-point Likert scale. Findings indicated high to very high levels for social planning (M ≈ 4.17), local development (M ≈ 4.25), and social work (M ≈ 4.22), and for social and economic impacts (M ≈ 4.20). Strong, statistically significant positive correlations were found between community strategies and both social and economic impacts (e.g., planning–economic ≈ 0.958; social work–social ≈ 0.909).
