Enhancing Social Protection for Temporary Workers "A Descriptive Study from the perspective of generalist practice in social work "

Abstract

Temporary workers are an important category facing major challenges in light of economic and social changes. Therefore, the current research aimed to identify the forms of social protection provided to temporary workers at the university, identify the obstacles facing the enhancement of social protection for temporary workers at the university, and the most important proposals to contribute to enhancing the social protection provided to temporary workers at the university. The research is considered a descriptive and analytical study in the field of social service, and relied on the social survey approach, both comprehensive and sample, through a comprehensive social census of experts and specialists in the labor force, whose number reached (10) individuals, and a sample of temporary workers at Assiut University, whose number reached (300) individuals. The study was applied to temporary workers at Assiut University Hospitals during the period from (June 2025 to August 2025). The results of the study proved the existence of an average level of forms of social protection provided to temporary workers, which were ranked in descending order as follows: health protection, followed by legal protection, then social and economic protection. The study reached a proposal for mechanisms to enhance social protection for temporary workers
