Abstract

The study aimed to identify the levels of both social anhedonia and major satisfaction among the study sample of first-year students at the Institute of Social Work. In addition, it sought to examine the correlational relationship between social anhedonia and major satisfaction among the same sample, as well as to determine the extent to which social anhedonia contributes to predicting the level of major satisfaction. The study sample consisted of (500) male and female students from the first-year cohort at the Institute of Social Work in Kafr Saqr - Sharqia Governorate. The study tools included the Social Anhedonia Scale developed by the researcher, and the Major Satisfaction Scale also developed by the researcher. The study adopted the descriptive method. The results indicated that the levels of both social anhedonia and major satisfaction among the sample were moderate. They also revealed a statistically significant negative correlation between social anhedonia and major satisfaction among the students. Moreover, the findings showed that social anhedonia contributes to predicting the level of major satisfaction among the study sample.
