The Effectiveness of The Aid-By-Aid Project in Achieving Community Integration of People with Disabilities

Abstract

The study aimed to measure the effectiveness of the Hand in Hand project in achieving social integration for people with disabilities, by measuring the ability of the Hand in Hand project to (develop and enrich knowledge, acquire new experiences and skills, bring about change in behavioral patterns, change the surrounding environmental conditions, satisfy needs, confront and solve problems) of people with disabilities. This study belongs to descriptive studies, and depends on the use of the comprehensive social survey approach for people with disabilities who benefit from the Hand in Hand project, numbering (175) individuals. The results of the study proved that the level of effectiveness of the Hand in Hand project in achieving social integration for people with disabilities is high. There are statistically significant differences between the responses of the beneficiaries according to some demographic variables (gender/social status/place of residence) with regard to their determination of the level of effectiveness of the Hand in Hand project in achieving social integration for people with disabilities. There is a statistically significant difference between the responses of the beneficiaries according to some demographic variables (age groups/educational status/job/type of disability) with regard to their determination of the level of effectiveness of the Hand in Hand project in achieving Community integration of persons with disabilities.
