Abstract

The negatives of electronic games addiction on the social relations of adolescents from the perspective of the general practice of social work
Summary
The study deals with the negative consequences of adolescent's addiction to playing electronic games and its impact on their social relationships and aims to identify those negatives related to the pattern of parents, brothers, relatives, friends from the perspective of the generalist practice of social work and proposals to avoid it and present a proposed vision to confront it. It is a descriptive-analytical study, which used the social survey method. And the questionnaire tool, which was applied at Mustafa Samir Badawy Language School in Kafr El-Sheikh, and I concluded that the most important of these negatives(Permanent disagreement with parents for playing games for long periods, staying away from family interactions with siblings for preoccupation with games, social distancing, and estrangement between siblings, shortening visits to relatives because they conflict with playing times, replacing group games with going out for walks with friends), and the most important proposals to avoid those negatives ( Providing an appropriate family climate that allows for the exchange of opinions between parents and children, helping brothers to pay attention to study instead of games, appreciating the positive intervention of relatives in personal matters, allocating a specific time to play group games with friends) and made a vision to confront it.
