Professional intervention using generalist practice in social work to develop demographic awareness among youth

Abstract

Demographic awareness refers to a group of educational programs whose activities include providing the individual with knowledge, behaviors, and attitudes related to the formation of awareness towards assuming responsibility associated with the issue of human reconstruction in terms of growth and distribution in accordance with the requirements of the social, economic, and environmental aspects, as well as reproductive health, to ensure comprehensive sustainable development that achieves quality of life in the present and the future. At the individual, family and community level, all of these efforts originate in the field of Egypt’s strategic plan and development goals, which achieves integration between human development initiatives and the strategic goals of the Egypt 2030 Plan. Therefore, this study aimed to develop demographic awareness among university youth through developing awareness of the social, health and economic impacts resulting from Population increase, through the professional intervention program, where the study was applied to a sample of university youth in the fourth year at the Faculty of Social Work, Assiut University, and the results of the study reached proof of the validity of the main hypothesis of the study and its sub-hypotheses.
