Social Relations Network and Its Role in Health Promotion Among University Youth: An Applied study on a sample of students at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah

Abstract

The studies aimed to recognize the role of the Social Relations Network in health promoting among university youth by focusing on four forms of social relations: family relations, friendship relationships, educational relationships, virtual relationships and their impact on young people's social, psychological, physical and mental health. The researcher used the social survey curriculum to collect the data required by means of identification. The sample consisted of 583 students from King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, and bachelor's degree students from all theoretical and practical faculties. The study found that most members of the sample received high marks in the level of social relations in their four forms: family, friendship, education, virtual, and the reality of promoting health in its dimensions: social, psychological, physical and mental. The study also created a positive and statistically significant correlation at the indicative level. (0.01) Between the network of social relations and the promotion of health among university youth, the total relationship between the network of social relations and the promotion of health, as well as all sub-dimensions, has been found, indicating that the greater the network of social relations of the individual in its dimensions (Family Relations, Friendship Relationships, Educational Relationships, Virtual Relationships) Health Promotion Increased in its Dimensions (social, psychological, physical and mental health) in university youth.
