The Influence of Change Consumption Behaviour on Family Relationships in the Context of Global Inflation A descriptive study applied to Saudi families in several regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract

This study aimed to achieve a main goal, which is to analyze the impact of the change in consumer behavior on family relations in Saudi society in light of global inflation. From which a number of goals branched out. The questionnaire tool was relied upon for a sample of (450) individuals from heads of households for students at the following universities (King Saud University in Riyadh - King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah - Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University in Dammam). The study reached a number of results, namely the existence of a relationship between the change in consumer behavior and family relations through the presence of a positive correlation between the change in consumer behavior and the change in consumption of luxuries and consumption of basic goods. There is a link between the change in consumer behavior and family relations in light of the global inflation of the Saudi family. There is a positive correlation between the change in consumer behavior and the change in consumption of luxuries and consumption of basic goods. There is a positive correlation between the change in the family relationships of the Saudi family as a result of the change in consumer behavior, tension, conflict, and changing roles in the family. There are statistically significant differences between the average level of luxury consumption due to the gender variable in favor of females.
