The role of the family in entrepreneurship

Abstract

This Study aimed to determine the Saudi Family Role on Developing the Awareness on Entrepreneurship via using the mixed method where the data was collected by both questionnaire and interview as tools for this study. However, the study found that % 59.6 of the study sample are agreed and strongly agreed about the importance of their families’ awareness on entrepreneurship on social development. In additional, % 53.3 of the study sample were encouraged by their families toward entrepreneurship. On one hand, the study found % 43.6 of the study sample were agreed and strongly agreed that adopting a participatory approach to decision-making in the socialization process. On the other hand, %42 of the study sample agreed that their families adopt a financially independent parenting style in contrast of %39.5 were agreed that their families adopt a parenting style characterized by intellectual independence. Furthermore, the study founds %25 of the study sample were always their families developing an initiative and risk taking skills comparing with %48.4 for the flexibility skill in thinking and daily communication.
However, the study founds that %31.5 of the study sample were consider all of the effective dialogue and seizing opportunities were significant skills in their families socialization process. On the other hand, the study found that %51.6 were consider the value of the continuing education as a significant value in contrast of reading and learning skills were %37.9 of the sample determine it as it always be an important values in their families. However, %73 of the study sample were agreed that “ Productivity Value “ is always considers as a significant value in their socialization process in contrast of %56.4 of the study sample were agreed that is always and often embrace the value of the financial support.
