Factors leading to a happy marital relationship in Saudi society

Abstract

The current study aims to achieve a single goal: to reveal the factors leading to marital happiness in Saudi society. To achieve this, this study relied on the use of the qualitative approach, which seeks to search for the essential nature of phenomena as they are in reality. It does not suffice with collecting information and data related to the phenomenon in order to investigate its various manifestations and relationships, but rather goes beyond that to analysis, connection and interpretation to reach conclusions on which the proposed concept is based. Because the researcher's choice of the research question is closely related to the research methodology, the researcher saw that the qualitative approach is one of the most appropriate approaches to achieve the goals of the current study and answer its questions. The subject of the current study is related to collecting the opinions of married couples about marital stability and happiness. It aims to know the basic characteristics of a stable marital relationship, and it does not focus on any relationship between two or more concepts. The results of the study reached the following: It was noted that the concepts of happy couples about happiness differ and vary according to their nature, interests, aspirations and even their environments. It also concluded that marital happiness may be represented in many other moral dimensions, such as reaching ecstasy, which is an expression It aims to achieve a satisfying sexual relationship, and good choice is considered a preventive way to avoid marital distress. This choice is subject to several standards that differ from one society to another, and even differ within one society and from one person to another.
