Practicing a Professional Intervention Program in Group Work for Development Life Skills for University Youth who’s addicted to Social Networking Sites
Social networking sites are the most widespread on the Internet, because of their various characteristics. These sites provide the individual with a wide scope for acquaintance and communication with other individuals in other countries, and establishing new social relationships. This allows them to learn about the cultures of other societies and countries. This research aimed to test the effectiveness of practicing a professional intervention program in community service to develop the life skills of university youth addicted to social networking sites, which are represented in the skills of (goal setting, time management, decision-making, and creating alternative activities). This research belonged to quasi-experimental studies and relied on the experimental method, as it applied to two groups, one experimental and the other control. The number of each group was (16) youth, and a program applied. Professional intervention in the Youth Welfare Department at the Faculty of Social Work, Assiut University, and the results of the research reached the validity of all the research hypotheses.
